European Regional Development Fund - Gateway Asia II
On 17th June 2015 Harrow College successfully hosted a free-to-attend business networking event for SMEs at Harrow Civic Centre.
The Gateway Asia II project aims to support businesses with procurement of international contracts to develop growth and fundamentally, the creation of new jobs.
Following introductions by Pat Carvalho, Vice Principal at Harrow College and the Gateway Asia II project team, presentations were delivered by specialist consultants in international trade. Companies represented included Harrow Council, UK India Business Council (UKIBC), UK Trade and Industry and London East and City Trade Finance and Insurance Solutions.
The event provided a successful opportunity for visitors to make new business contacts and find out more about how Gateway Asia II can benefit their business. There was also an opportunity to meet staff from Harrow College to discuss the opportunities for working together to support young people.
Steven Porter, Head of Enterprise and Industry at Harrow College says: “Gateway Asia II is a project that continues to provide access to genuine business leads and opportunities for funded support for growth. Today’s event not only highlighted the chance to gain market intelligence but also the benefits of trading internationally. With the support of Harrow College and consultants assigned to the Gateway Asia II project, I’m keen to see the growth of businesses that have engaged with us.”
Harrow College will now be supporting a series of further events to complement the Gateway Asia II project.
Details of international travel destinations to be visited as part of the project roll-out can be viewed on the Gateway Asia II website.
